The Haka

The Haka is a traditional dance of the original inhabitants of New Zealand, the Maori. The Haka was performed before going into battle with the enemy. The Haka was used to prepare the warriors, to create a connection with each other which ensured that they were mentally and physically ready for battle.

Today, the Haka is a symbol of love and challenges. It is performed by family, friends, and colleagues to honor the importance of any type of special occasion, such as birthdays and weddings.

The Haka became well known through the New Zealand rugby team 'the All Blacks'. The All Blacks team perform the Haka before the start of every rugby match. Performing the Haka helps the All Blacks to feel connected to each other and to face any challenge together. This is why they are considered the best sporting team in the world.
